Liposuction Comments from Dr. Melton's patients: The areas that bothered me - my abdomen, my hips, and my lower back - I just felt were misshapen. I had a previous tummy tuck, and because of it I had bumps or shelving in the scar area. You don't want to admit it that it is a self-esteem issue, but it is. Before the liposuction, I had the tummy tuck. And then, I worked out regularly. I did more sit ups and leg lifts and everything you can possibly think of, and those were just problem areas where it just wouldn't go away. The liposuction worked extremely well. In only five weeks I could notice a difference in my slacks, I could notice a difference in my overall appearance, and – I don't always have to wear the spandexy type underwear – I can wear the cutesy ones now, because I can do it. I just feel so much better, it just looks so much better. And I can wear different clothes than I did before. It is absolutely wonderful It has definitely changed the way I see myself, and people are noticing. They say how much more are you working out now? My husband definitely notices a difference with it, and it's just amazing how I came through it compared to when I had the tummy tuck I would recommend it in a heartbeat. I read up a lot on liposuction. My fear was the pain. The pain was minimal. I never had to take anything afterwards, not even an Aleve. I took nothing afterwards – not even Tylenol. The only thing I felt was like a bruise and that was it. The local anesthesia was very important to me. I have had surgeries in the past under general anesthesia before and I didn't like the feeling. The way it made me feel afterwards, and the long term effects that it could have. It was just very comforting to be able to be awake through it. To have my own music on. And to just have conversation. It just made me feel so much more relaxed. Dr.Melton and the staff were wonderful. They just made me feel really good. The time went by so fast. I didn't realize the amount of time that went by. They gave me the option of wanting to see what was coming out of my body, and I chose to do that (and we talked about it and joked about it).
