Liposuction of the banana roll area
(infragluteal crease)
The lowermost buttock is a "problem area" of excess fat accumulation in some women.
There can also be excess fat lower down, in an extra area between the buttock and the back of the thigh which some refer to as a "banana
roll."
This area was viewed as a difficult one to treat with liposuction back when much larger cannulas were used. The buttocks, particularly the
inferior portion and "banana roll", were difficult to treat with liposuction without causing an abnormal grooving of the skin surface.
However, now much smaller liposuction cannulas are used, and good results can be obtained even in these previously difficult areas.
